May 5 MMIMW (Missing and Murdered Indigenous Men Women)
The Ohpikowin girls group from Ponoka Secondary Campus were planning a walk to bring awareness to MMIMW (Missing and Murdered Indigenous Men Women) for today, May 5th. The girls had an assembly planned with a walk to follow and did an amazing job organizing the event. Unfortunately, due to our current circumstances, we weren't able to have our the walk, so we've put together a video to bring awareness of the issue that is currently impacting Indigenous people across Canada and the United States. It's an issue that should impact us all, but many are unaware.
A special thank you to Vince Burke, Communication Coordinator for WCPS, who took their ideas and created this video.
